About Us
Hello, thank you for taking the time to have a look at our online Australian fabric store.
My name is Sharon, and I've been sewing since I was four years old (which was quite a while ago now). My Mum loves to tell the story of me just appearing with some hand-sewn finger puppets when I was only four. I used to read her craft magazines, rat through her sewing supplies, and create all kinds of things.
As a teenager I loved making my own clothing. I've always enjoyed arty crafty things, but am in no way a perfectionist, and embrace the idea of hand-made looking just that. My first two attempts at quilting were in the 1990's and never got finished. In 2011, while my children were small, I started dyeing and selling yarn under the name Little Plum Yarn. Although I loved dying the yarn, it was very much manual labour for not a lot of return, so I stopped in 2015 after we moved to Bendigo. I was also a very prolific knitter up until this time but it was causing me shoulder and wrist pain so I stopped that as well. I really needed some sort of craft to keep me busy so decided to go back to quilting. In early 2018 I totally finished my first quilt and haven't stopped since then.
For me, the joy of quilting comes from the colour and feel of the fabric. I love the squishy finished object that you can cuddle up with on the lounge at the end of a long day.
To me there's nothing better than a squishy, crinkly quilt!
We currently stock a range of designer fabrics as meterage and curated fabric bundles. Although we are an online business, we can also arrange a local pickup if you are ever in the Bendigo region - please contact us and we can arrange a time for you to collect your parcel.
